Leave the cigarettes at home when visiting France!
Tourists heading for a ski holiday in France or in its capital of Paris can be seen kicking ass "in your smoking habit. From France this year, smoking is prohibited in all places that serve the public. That includes companies private. Perhaps the French owners business should be considered lucky to have this much latitude. Several major cities around the world have enacted laws that restrict smoking outdoors even. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada prohibits smoking within five meters of any door that enters and leaves the public. Vancouver, another Canadian city no longer allows customers light in restaurant dining areas outdoors.
In Andorra, a small neighboring country of France known for its skiing holiday, still allowed smoking in bars and restaurants. Andorra is a tax haven cigarettes are cheaper than elsewhere in Europe. And ironically Andorra has the highest average life expectancy of any country in the world – imagine!
While it appears that French smokers are a bit annoyed by the smoking ban, most have reluctantly accepted as reality. Many recognize that other parts of the industrialized world and has led the way in this effort. Some smokers have even said that it is the push "that they had to give up their habits. In general, the French ban on lighting up in public has been received with praise. Therefore, if you are French planning a vacation, think about leaving their cigarettes at home.
