According to Press Trust of India, Posted online: Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 1241 hours IST, the immigration authorities of the United States have announced that 2000 slots in the category H1B visa are still available for holders of master degree or advanced degrees in America. s of April 18, 2007, the U.S. Citizenship and Services Immigration Services (USCIS) had received approximately 18,000 applications for H-1B visas for foreigners with advanced degrees. Congress has mandated that the first 20,000 applications are exempt from any fiscal year cap on available H1B visas. The agency is doing its final tabulations for FY 2008 and the expectation is that the availability total of 65,000 visas under the H1B general category finish.
