How to enter a career in activism / reflection / non-profit?
Currently I am two semesters in a master's in Psychology Clinic and found that I like to therapy. It would be better "than toughing out" for one more year to help me get a job in a species activist / lobby / nonprofit organization? Or is there any benefit to getting a degree in something that is not important?
Nonprofits need people with MA in Clinical Psychology, but do not make yourself miserable if that's not what you want to study. think tanks tend to want people with a Ph.D. and a lot research experience and published articles in academic journals. lobbies prefer people with legal qualifications or degrees in public policy. As that the profit for the world, different jobs nonprofit require different levels of work experience and academic degrees. A communications assistant will not need to have the same experience or credentials as a counselor or communications director of a department of five people of communications.
