Profits Department Stores

profits department stores
Can I buy paintings from department stores &

sell them in the parks on the grass for profit? I would not try to pretend I painted them just put prices on them and sell them. Do I need a license or permit and is this ethical?
tlw- I agree this was put in the improper category. I just went with the suggested category and did not notice where they were putting me. I diffinitely did not want to insult anybody!
SB22- I’m not trying to be tacky. I’m not selling fake art works. I also have sold used novels and books at garage sales. Is that also tacky or would you rather see me throw them away? Thank God when I was a child somebody was selling cheap art works or I would have had no art work ( of any value) on my walls. Should I have been denied that because I could not afford the great works of the masters?! Ease up people.
tlw- I like your last comment and it’s very true. I will not be doing this for extra money. It was a thought but now that I have had feed back I can plainly see it is not a good idea.

It is called resale, and Costco shoppers do it with food and other items all the time! I personally object to it, because you are not contributing a new idea or product, but rather charging others more for something than it is worth on the market (what you paid for it.)

And to ask this in an art/painting forum is rather tacky. . . . as an artist I like to promote support of the arts and REAL artists . . . not junk like sofa paintings done in sweat shops overseas!

Please do not consider this selling art. . . this is selling bulk merchandise. There may be nothing wrong with that whatsoever. . . . but in my opinion I think you are taking money from people who might not like finding out they could get the same thing cheaper at the department store!
