What is Alex Salmonds policy with the Shetlands and oil?

Keeping in mind most of the oil left is north of the Shetlands, what deal will the few islanders get if Salmond succeeds in gaining independence: all oil profits, autonomy or independence?

Alex’s policy is quite simple, take 95% of the North Sea oil when independent, this has its implications though, before 1964, England’s sea boundary was moved without consent in favour of Scotland in order to hush Scottish Nationalism at the time, if Mr. Salmond wants the oil – there is a chance the the UK government will give it back to the English – the original owner. Bear in mind that this does not cover all oil, only a small portion (about 30%).

Now in regards to Shetland, Alex Salmond would block any chance they had of independence from Scotland, to do so would leave his country in bad finance. If Shetland went independent and the sea boundary between them and Scotland was drawn, make no mistake – Shetland would probably be the most prosperous nation on the planet. Not only oil, but fishing industry as well. If Scotland went independent, it would be in the Shelanders best interest to go independent as well. However, the chances look unlikely.
